Without question, the polycarbonate chairs we offer can be used outdoors; even for more than “casual” use, but they are designed primarily for indoors use. Long-term storage should place these chairs out of harsh outdoor conditions. Such attention will result in your chairs looking as good as when you bought them, well into their life.

Polycarbonate resin is gorgeous and built to last, but it also has a fine surface finish that must be factored into the cleaning regimen.

Plasteak Furniture Care

Polycarbonate Resin (our crystal clear styles) must be washed carefully with mild soap to prevent scratching. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS. Rinse with warm water and wipe clean with a soft cloth.

Polypropylene Resin (our white and grey “Plasteak” chair styles) can be washed and cleaned with a mild abrasive like Ajax (if necessary) or even just a slight paste-like mixture of baking soda and water. A cleaner that cleans pots, but is a gentle solution, will remove dirt and grime.

Incidentally, more often than not, such cleaners won’t be necessary. These Polypropylene chairs have a surface, and inherent properties that don’t hold onto dirt and grime, simply rinsing with water and wiping with a clean cloth on a regular basis will keep these chairs clean. Alternatively, after extended periods of time outside, or in dirty weather, a cleaning with a mild soapy solution and water, finishing by wiping off with a clean cloth will present your chairs in the same condition as when they were new.
