About Ceramic Materials & Care
Ceramic tabletops are considered a highly durable material that is ideal for all year round use outdoors. Made from natural materials, ceramic tabletops create tone and texture variations that make each piece unique and can differ from table to table. Ceramic tabletops are UV and heat resistant, resistant to water absorption, and resistant to most outdoor elements.
HANDLING YOUR CERAMIC TABLETOP
Ceramic is a strong material but it is important to handle your tabletop with care. Avoid putting pressure on the edges to laying it down with force. Always hold the ceramic tabletop in a vertical position using two people with caution when moving the piece.
Carrying the tabletop horizontally is not recommended as it can put stress on the middle section of the tabletop causing possible cracks and weakening of the internal structure. Although ceramic is a strong material it is not designed to take heavy weight that can damage the tabletop over time.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
In order to prevent any dirt or other outdoor build up it is necessary to keep the surface of the ceramic tabletop clean. Although dirt will not penetrate into the ceramic material, cleaning any debris with a microfiber cloth that is gentle on the surface will keep your piece in excellent condition.
Most stains can be cleaned with warm water and a neutral detergent. Severe spillages should be cleaned immediately to prevent irreparable staining. We recommend wiping down your tabletop after each use to keep your piece looking good and performing a deep cleaning a couple times a year.
STORING YOUR OUTDOOR CERAMIC FURNITURE
Due to the material properties of ceramic, this natural material is weather resistant and can maintain use all year round. If you prefer to store your furniture during the colder months you can use furniture covers for added protection.
