Powder coated aluminium is our material of choice for our lightest weight outdoor furniture, for so many reasons. Always delivering good looks in abundance, the base aluminium frame of each piece is coated with polyester micro particles in colours that perfectly complement the furniture’s other attributes; and the resulting finish keeps the piece looking just like new for many years to come.

Even though aluminium doesn’t rust like steel can (picture black and orange exposed steel), powder-coating offers the same oxidation protection as on our steel furniture.

A great many of our most popular pieces at Design Warehouse feature powder-coated aluminium, because it looks incredible, and has this amazing extra level of protection.

 

Durable Outdoor Furniture

It’s also important to mention that although powder coating is durable for outdoor furniture, it isn’t a hard coating, relatively speaking. This means abrasive cleaning formulas and tools are to be avoided, but with powder-coating, you won’t need abrasives anyway. The finish is smooth and resistant to dirt and debris.

A wipe down with a damp soft cloth for normal cleaning, and a hose down, followed by a wipe down with a soft cloth, is all that you should ever need to clean this furniture. Generally speaking, furniture that is powder-coated has a long life, and using these best practices for the cleaning of such furniture will extend their gorgeous good looks even longer.
