CLEANING YOUR NEW GEL-COATED FIBERGLASS FURNITURE

Gel-coated fiberglass is a resilient and beautiful product. It is made to withstand salt air, sun and moisture and can easily retain its good looks for many years.

We do not recommend using an abrasive cleaner. The glossy finish of the gel-coating will be harmed if you use an abrasive cleaner on the product.

Specifically, because it is only being used for outdoor furniture purposes, we don’t recommend you use a fiberglass cleaner. But if you are in salt air environments or areas where this makes sense, a high quality fiberglass cleaner should work just fine. Use instructions on cleaner for this scenario, and use cleaner minimally over time.

We also recommend, that even though fiberglass and gel-coat are made to handle outdoor environments, you do not store the furniture outdoors for long periods of time in harsh sun or weather conditions. If you do, it will accelerate the degradation of the materials involved. Proper storage ensures a very long life and that you can maintain the stunning looks of your new gel-coated fiberglass furniture.

Using a soft lint free cloth with a mild cleanser (like a non-abrasive liquid dish detergent or mild all-purpose cleaner) and water should be sufficient to clean, followed by a rinse with clear water and a wipe-down with a clean lint-free cloth.
